Engineering
About the Engineering Department
The Engineering Department provides engineering services for other City departments, manages City construction projects, and inspects private projects within the right of way. The Engineering Department fulfills a wide range of needs for the other City departments and the community, including:
- Assisting in analysis and reporting for the Water and Wastewater Treatment Departments
- Construction and project management
- Encroachment permit oversite
- Ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulatory agencies
- Mapping and analysis of City utilities and infrastructure
- Plan review
- Preparation of plans and specifications
- Public contract bidding management
- Topographic surveying and design of construction projects
The Engineering Department also prepares requests for proposals, grants, and contracts related to engineering, and provides mapping services for all City departments. The Engineering office is located at the entrance of the Public Works Yard, just behind the library.
